Let's start with the positive: the soap smells great and though I spend a little more time washing my face, I feel like it gives the soap a chance to be absorbed and clean deeper into the pores than normal.

Two reasons I can only give it one star: 1) I haven't really noticed a difference from my regular cleanser and washcloth routine, 2) More importantly, I haven't owned one yet that's lasted more than 3 weeks! The first one I bought lasted one week, and then turned on by itself in my cabinet, and would not turn off until I removed the battery. I exchanged it for a new one, thinking I must have had a bad model, but three weeks later I can't get the one I have to turn on. I don't use it in the shower and I only use it twice daily, so I don't think I'm 'abusing' it. I'm going to have to return this one too and I don't think I'll get another. I've seen other reviews of folks mentioning theirs only lasted 2-8 weeks.

**Update 4/30/10: It's been a week now since I returned the Wave and I actually think my skin is clearer by not using it. I think it was the vibrations though and not the soap because I've just been using the leftover pads to wash my face and I'm noticing a lot less oil and blackheads. It may be my skin type (combination) that was getting aggravated by over-exfoliating, so watch out for this as well.

Customer Review: Works as expected-for a short time-down to two stars

I did some research on reviews prior to buying this product. Reviewers are correct when they speak about the product not foaming well. However, this is not a major concern for me as I use my own cleanser with the product. I also use the pads more than once which will reduce the overall cost. I do think this cleanses my face well. I have notices my acne scars fading quicker than before the use. Some people have questioned how long to use it on my face. I know the clarisonic beeps at certain points to help you know when to move it around your face. I use it for 20 seconds on my forehead, 10 seconds on each cheek, and 30 seconds on my nose and chin area. I then use it all over my face for about another minute. So far, so good. I will update upon further use.

UPDATE: I used the wave for two weeks. After that time, the wave stopped turning on regularly. I switched out the batteries and the wave would still not turn on. Also, I noticed my face was breaking out more often than before using it. I purchased the wave in hopes it would exfoliate and be a good substitute for the Clarisonic as I did not want to spend $200. However, I returned the wave and will try something else. By the way, I have read other reviews that have said the wave stopped turning on as well.

Neutrogena is a very well known brand among skin cleansers and products. This product is a very nice addition to their line. The great advantage of this product is you can use it while showering. It's waterproof design makes it safe to use while bathing.

It's very easy to use. Just place a pad on the specially designed velcro base. No self adhesive tape necessary. The velcro keeps it very well in place.

To activate the product all that is needed is to wet the pad until the cleanser begins to foam a bit, then press the ON button to start the vibration motion and then apply to the face.

At first it feels a bit warm going on, but then begins to feel cool. Much like Noxema does. Very refreshing.

At the end of the shower, your skin actually feels clean and tight. It removed some of the dry, dead patches of skin on the face.

I recommend this product for a quick way to exfoliate and cleans the face without having to leave a "mask" on.

Great product.

I have used this product for about five days now- always in the morning. The first day, I didn't think it was that much of a help. It was nice the first day, but didn't seem much better than my regular (Clean & Clear) morning face wash.

On the third morning, though, I looked at the wash pad and saw that there was a LOT of make-up on there that my cleanser used the night before had apparently not caught. So that night I washed more thoroughly, but the same thing happened. So I think it must be true- these washcloths, coupled with the very gentle vibrating, really clean deep down! And maybe it was only after that I realized it, but my skin does feel fresh and I don't think it gets oily or shiny at the rate that it usually does.

Overall, I think this product is a good one. I don't know how long the battery lasts, or how long the product will last before it breaks (as I've only had it for five days), but I think it will clean deep and leave your face feeling fresh and clean, without leaving it dry.

Customer Review: Nice, but unnecessary,,,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I've been using this product for over a week. The idea of a foaming unit with a cleanser sounded good. And it does get my face very clean - but that is a benefit of the cleanser on the pads, not this machine. The name "Power Cleanser" is misleading. I was disappointed the unit does not provide much foaming action. I had to run it over my face many times before I saw any foam. So, I decided to test the results just using the pad without the unit. Turns out my face is just as clean and I got just as much (or little) foam without it! Neutrogena is trying to jazz up foaming face cloths, like Olay's, with some battery power, but it just isn't needed. They'd be better off just offering their own version of Olay cloths.

In addition, I used it every day as instructed, but found that my face got a little dry after a few days. So, I wouldn't recommend using this more than a couple times a week. Overall, it isn't any better than buying some of Neutrogena's high quality cleansers - no batteries needed.
