First, there were two things I really liked about this product.
I have a fair number of skin allergies and many products will immediately give me a horrible red rash. It's a great party trick, but not something I want to do all the time. I did test it on my arm and hand before I put it on my face. This product did not itch, burn, irritate, or redden my skin in the slightest. It felt nice and cool. So I loved the feel.
The second thing is that it has no odor. Some products say they are "fragrance free" and still stink. I could not smell anything. If I want to wear something smelly, I will wear perfume.
So, those two items will keep me from immediately throwing it in the wastebasket. I am not a cosmetics expert, so I did a little research. I found an article on a leading consumer review website that had done some in-depth comparisons of wrinkle creams. They found that price is unrelated to effectiveness. However, none of the products were much worse or much better than the others. So they rated them "slightly more effective"; "average"; and "slightly less effective" in terms of wrinkle removal. So that is interesting. The Olay Regenerist wrinkle cream was the top rated. It was about 1/4 the price of the number 2 cream. Both were rated "slightly more effective" It took 12 weeks of use to notice even a slight difference. They found that all products tested helped some of the women. So their recommendation was to start with the top rated product and if that didn't help, try a different brand.
They did say that avoiding sun, tanning beds, and quitting smoking would help your skin the most. For me, I add stress management (like meditation) and drinking enough water to the list of things that make my skin look better. That said, I do use moisturizers and makeup because I think it makes me look better and more finished. It would be a bonus if it also made me look younger! I did like this Olay product because it made the dark circles under my eyes look somewhat less apparent. I liked the little rollers and that I could put on the cream without creating more wrinkles. I didn't have any trouble applying the cream evenly. The tube says to avoid contact with eyes. That seemed a little odd in an eye cream, but I didn't have any trouble with that. Lastly, after having the cream on for about an hour, my undereye area appeared a little less puffy. I plan to continue to use this product.
