Customer Review: This thing is awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

The ped egg is simply amazing. I wish I would have purchased one of these years ago. I've worked in restaurants for over nine years which means that I've spent a lot of time on my feet building up some pretty gnarly callouses. Also I wear flip flops every day pretty much so my feet are always out in the open. I really don't like socks so my feet had gotten really think "hooves" as a friend called them. They were pretty embarrassing actually and every time I was out in public wearing my flip flops I would always try to hide my feet. The way I made do without the Ped Egg before was that after a shower and my feet had a time to soak I would take a knife and scrape off as much of the callous as I could... ya... not the smartest thing in the world. What finally convinced me to try this out was purchasing some satin sheets. My feet felt like velcro and would stick to my sheets and even though they were awesome and smooth and I loved them my feet made them almost unusable.

Now that I have a Ped Egg everything about that has changed. My feet are smoother and more supple than they have been since I can remember. I honestly didn't believe anything short of a miracle could fix my feet. I'd looked into various creams and lotions and anything I could and nothing really seemed to fit what I needed it to do. But, the Ped Egg did everything I could have dreamed it to do. I'm so happy that I purchased this product. I wish I could rate it 10 stars.

Like other posters have said do be careful with it and if you have really thick callouses take them down in intervals. You'll definately be able to tell if you took too much off at once as that spot is a little more sensitive. Callouses are meant to protect our feet after all. I was afraid that using this I wouldn't be able to tell when to stop but it's honestly easy to tell when you're taking off dead dry skin and when it's done.

The only con to this product which isn't really a con so much are the emery pads that come with it. I really like how they work and think they're good but they honestly only work for one or two uses for me and then they don't work as well anymore. They're definitely needed though. Even using the Ped Egg to get rid of the callous still leaves rough edges. It's the equivalent to using 200 grit sand paper on wood. It works great to take off all the burrs and what not but after you're done you really need a finer grit to finish the job and make it silky smooth.

Long story short: I love this product and have recommended it to all my friends.

Customer Review: ~*~*~IT'S OKAY BUT A SANDING SPONGE WORKS WAY BETTER~*~*~
Summary: 4 Stars

My husband bought me a Ped Egg about a year ago because my heels were really dry and cracked...and kept scratching him at night.

The Ped Egg does work pretty well but if your feet are really bad you will have to do this quite a few times obviously. And depending on how often you use this, it will get dull and then does not work very well anymore. After a few months, mine got pretty dull and didn't work very well.

Several months ago I wanted to wear flip flops and my heels were a gross/dry mess and my Ped Egg was just too dull to work. I asked my husband if he knew where his hand sander was because I was literally going to try that on my feet. He thought that I meant the hand sanding sponge and brought me that. So I tried it out, it was a medium on one side and course on the other. I tried the course and wow, that thing was amazing. It worked better and faster than the Ped Egg because the sponge contours to your foot and has more actual sanding area. Plus I could do more than just my heels, the ball of my feet and my big toes were also a little dry and I used it on them too. Once I used the course side to get most of the big dry patches off, I used the medium side. My feet were actually really smooth then but I had my husband bring me the fine sanding sponge and I made my feet even more smooth. So what would have taken days or over a week with the Ped Egg, I was able to do in about 20 minutes with a couple sanding sponges. Plus they are cheaper and last a lot longer.

After I sand my feet I put either Badger Brand Healing Balm all over my feet and then a pair of socks, or some other kind of lotion(or even cooking shortening works really well)

Now I just have to use the fine sanding sponge when my heels start to get any dryness.

Most people don't know that dry/cracked heels is usually genetic, instead of shedding the old skin like its supposed to it stays on your feet. If you go to a Dermologist they can prescribe you a foot cream and it basically eats away the dead skin(I discovered that when I went to the Dermotologist for a routine checkup and she looked at my heels)

Wether you try the sanding sponge or use the Ped Egg, good luck and moisturizing your feet before bed and then wearing socks all night really helps.

Customer Review: Cracked Feet No More!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was in my local Kroger store on Christmas Eve's Eve and I saw the pedegg on sale, it was pink too... My favourite colour! So, I didn't use it until a couple days later, but when I did I was pleasantly surprised to see how well this little thing works! I had a callus on the side of my big toe, and within a few minutes the pedegg was able to scrap it away! I have a Dr. Scholl's foot file that is pretty much sand paper... Well, every time I would use it, it would take some of the dried skin off, but the calluses were almost being polished. I couldn't get rid of them for the life of me. I thought there was no way to get rid of calluses until I found the pedegg.

The only thing I don't like about it, is it didn't catch much of the dead skin. I have shavings all over my rug, BUT is that really that big of a deal? I mean the foot files do the exact thing, they get a powder of skin all over the place. So, in my humble opinion it's not that big of a deal and you can do it in your DRY bath tub, or lie down a towel if you want to sit on the couch and do it. You're not supposed to get your feet wet before using this product, so if you take a shower, it would be best to wait a bit before using the pedegg.

All in all, I give this product 5 stars because I used to hate to touch my feet, and I hate touching other peoples feet, but I like to feel my feet now because they are so soft and smooth. I haven't felt my feet this smooth since I was a kid, and I'm 24 years old. So, it's been probably 15+ years since I've had soft feet.

Also, lotion IS A MUST! I highly recommend using lotion after using this product. It's important to keep that skin soft, and for the first couple of months I plan to use the pedegg once, or twice a week, but I am going to religiously put lotion on my feet every night before I go to bed. I don't think I'll need to do this as much after a while, but I want to make sure that my skin doesn't go back to being thick and cracked again... Ahhh the sweet victory over dried and cracked skin!

Customer Review: Tenderfoot
Summary: 1 Stars

Well, I'm going to be returning the PedEgg. My feet are just way too tender for this device. And I should have known better before I purchased this device, as I generally have thin and tender skin. It did just what I shuddered to think it would do when I first learned about this product a couple of months ago. With careful and gentle application, it was akin to a cheese grater shredding my skin. I ended up with bleeding heels! And as for the emery buffing pads: moderately effective on the parts of my feet on which I was able to utilize it.

It's pretty apparent then that my feet were not callused as I thought. It was the promise of "beautiful feet" that induced me to purchase this item. To acquire smooth, baby soft feet requires persistent attention. The use of this item was a painful mistake! And now I'll suffer the consequences of using this device. My heels will have to recover before I can use any treatment. I will be really babying my feet between now and this weekend when I have multiple events to attend and for which I'll have to wear shoes and not sandals.

When I am able, I'm going back to my tried and true routine. The use of a foot brush lathered up with soap while in the shower followed by a buffing with fine grain wet/dry strips (I use 3M's 413Q 220 Wetordry Tri-M-ite Paper -- purchased at any hardware store) is a successful daily routine for me to a point. I have "sandal-worthy" feet. When I wash my feet nightly and soak my feet in a small tub a couple of times a week in combination with the afore routine, my feet are beautiful and baby soft.

No more gimmicks for me. What WAS I thinking... I should have listened to that little inner voice: "Don't get this product!"

The use of this product has been a tortuous experience for me. No "carrot" for this product. I'd give it a whack with a BIG stick, instead. Thumbs down on the PedEgg!

The above was not an advertisement for 3M, as I have no affiliation.

Customer Review: Skeptic is now a believer!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had a callus problem for 15 years, since I badly burned the bottom of my feet while living in Greece. I am the kind of person who never wears shoes or socks, also. If I have to put something on my feet, I slip on sandals and kick them off as soon as possible. Needless to say, my feet had seriously thick calluses and deep cracks.

I've done pedicures, I've slept with big fuzzy socks on after slathering my feet in goop, I've used that blade thingy that either cut too deep or uneven. In short, I've tried every thing I read about or was recommended, and nothing ever fixed my problem 100 percent. The PedEgg will.

I've used it one single time, and I have no doubt after one more use my feet will be baby-butt smooth. The cracks are just faint lines and my heel skin feels tight and smooth. I LOVE this product!

The main complaint I read here is about how the shavings aren't contained in the unit. Yes, the "shavings" do leak out, but that's because they're not really shavings -- it's more like dust. The secret of the egg is that as the many blades are slid against the rough skin, it essentially grates off the skin very finely. It's somewhere between rough sandpaper and a cheese grater. So you end up with this funky smelling fine dust. Just put something down; and remember that if you use that blade contraption, the skin you slough off comes in distinguishable strips, so at least this won't gross you out as much:)

The other complaint seems to be about making your feet rough. This product is not something you should use to maintain feet that are in nice condition! It's like a little cheese grater, and the blades DO slice your skin, (um, that's the point of this gadget), albeit in a gentle way. Use the emery board part for maintenance.

Just follow the directions regarding how to use it (holding it lengthwise and moving in up and down strokes, rather than circles or side to side) and be careful not to overdo it.
