Customer Review: made painful cracked heals worse

I had very high hopes for this product but had very painful results. I used it as directed on my dry cracked heels and got very good cosmetic results. The next day, however, my feet were painful and the cracks in the heels began getting inflamed and excruciatingly painful. I had to use antibiotic ointment for a few days and now, a week after using the ped egg I still have pain in my feet. I am guessing that there is a risk of infection with this device which is, in effect, a surgical tool.
My feet are smoother and I hope that they will eventually feel better. In fairness to the product I may have used it too much but I'm not sure how I would have known that at the time. It didn't hurt while I was using it. I do not have any type of neuropathy or insensitivity so I am not sure why I didn't feel pain while using the product.

I ordered the PedEgg from Amazon and loved it. It took all the dead, dry skin off the soles of my feet with the first treatment. I recently bought the new PedEgg with Handle which I now prefer, as I don't have to lean and bend so much to treat my feet. For people who complained about a lack of results, remember that you need to soak your feet first to soften the skin a little. I bought Earth Therapeutics line of foot care products with Tea Tree Oil and my feet are smooth and silky. Give your feet a soak, then use the PedEgg, then apply lotion to moisturize for the best results. I bought Earth Therapeutics Foot Salts Soak, Foot Scrub, Foot Repair Lotion and Tea Tree Oil Spray. Heaven! If you want less bending and reaching while you file your feet, check a local drug store or bath store for the PedEgg with Handle for 12.99 retail.Customer Review: Works just like promised!

I have to echo all the positive reviews of this product. My left heel was so dry & cracked, that I used to have to sand it with 60 grit sandpaper (much to the chagrin of my wife). So yesterday I picked up the PedEgg at Walgreeens, and too it home to try it out.
Sooooo much better and easier to use than anything else! The design is ergonomic and easy to hold in your hand, and it really shaves away the dead, dry skin quickly. As stated previously, it does not collect ALL the shavings inside the unit, but who cares? File your foot over a waste basket like I do and you're fine.
I've been using the Miracle Foot Repair cream for a while, but when used in conjunction with the PedEgg, my heel has never been smoother or better looking. I plan on going back and getting a pack of replacement blades.

I've got really bad feet. Terrible calluses, and heels that get so dry that it was always a toss-up as to which one would destroy my pantyhose first, the callus or the heel. It got to the point that I was putting moleskin on the areas, before getting into my pantyhose. What a pain, not to mention the expense. I saw this little gizmo on TV, and since the price was right, I decided to give it a try. Wow! It really works. It's just like a little cheese grater, but your feet are the cheese. I followed the directions, and before I knew it, those ugly calluses were gone, and my heels were soft. I could hardly believe it. Here's a product that actually does what it says it will. I figure with the money I save on pantyhose and moleskin, it's already paid for itself. This is a great little gizmo. Your feet will thank you.Customer Review: No longer skeptical! Usually, I keep a wide berth between myself and the purchase of "as seen on TV" products. Let's face it, more times than not, they are junk. But, truth be told, the heels of my feet were starting to look other worldly and I was willing to try anything. I wear flip flops all day every day and the practice has offered little benefit to my feet. We are talking about a quarter inch of callous here! So, I bought the Pedegg (with the replacement blades and "miracle repair" lotion) as a last ditch effort to have normal looking feet without paying out the nose for a pedicure. It works! I saw a huge difference after just the first use. I highly recommend this product. It is dirt cheap and absolutely does what it says it is going to do. I have no doubt that my calloused heels will be like new again within a week or two.
