Customer Reviews of Ped Egg Pedicure Foot File, Colors may vary

Customer Review: I don't see what the fuss is about
Summary: 2 Stars

I used this as instructed, but all it did was rough up my foot surfaces even more. It didn't smooth the rough places on my feet, although inside the egg there was about a tablespoon of "dust" that had been scraped off by the grater. It was like it partially cut little strands of dry skin and left them sticking up all over the rough spots on my feet - and further scraping of those areas with the egg did nothing to remove those strands that made my feet surfaces look a bit "furry".

Additionally, I had a terrible time getting the egg open so that I could empty it. I don't know why, but the 2 pieces of the egg were stuck so tightly together that I nearly had to use a tool to pry it open. I worried for my hands when I was trying to prise it apart - in case it slipped out of my grip and the grater scraped my normal, soft hand skin.

After the disappointment of that first use, I decided not to use it again.

I washed it and gave it to a relative. She says that she likes it and that it is doing a good job on her feet. So this might be an individual thing. For that reason, I'm giving it 2 stars, rather than the 1 star that I'd give it based only on my experience.

Customer Review: Ped Trash
Summary: 1 Stars

I rated it one because I made a mental list of its cons and then tried to think of its pros and couldn't come up with any. The skin shaving mostly stayed in it although some fell out, not really a big deal, I groom in the bathroom and expected at least a little mess. My feet are mostly rough from wearing flip flops too much and though they are much rougher than they used to be, I see other ladies' feet and can tell you that they are still pretty decent in comparison. My thing was that even though I didn't use very much pressure and I followed the instructions dilligently my feet were terribly sore and none the softer. That's unacceptable. I'm willing to take some discomfort in exchange for results but there were none. Just painful, kind of like you've been wearing awful shoes all day long while running around. Took a couple of weeks to get back to normal. NOTE: I've been reading some reviews on Dremels and from there I got the idea, because other people have been doing it, to use it to soften my feet. It worked great. I used the Dremel 400 but I just got the Dremel Minimite because it's cordless and more convenient for grooming and because my husband wanted the big Dremel back in the garage.

Customer Review: I wasn't crazy about it, but it works.

Basically, what the PedEgg really is, is a nail file on one side, and a food grater on the other. That being said, I think this product could be a cheaper buy, since it's not all that original... but it does get the job done.

You're instructed to use the food grater side first. This takes off the dead/dry skin. After using that side, you empty out the dead skin from the container, flip it over, and use the nail file side to smooth out the skin. That's about it, simple really.

Considering the costs of monthly professionally done pedicures, this is definitely a cheaper solution. If you don't mind taking the time to do this sort of thing yourself, then I would say give it a try,

Personally I like to put on some form of lotion after I am done using it, helps keep it smoother longer.

Do not, I repeat, **DO NOT** use this on the top of your foot. If you wear tight shoes like me, sometimes you can get a callous on the top of your foot. I thought it was a good idea to smooth it out, it is not. My foot was sore and red for like a month. Just remember to stick to the bottom of your foot, and not the top or sides, and you'll be fine.

Customer Review: An amazing and cheap solution
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had calloused feet for as long as I can remember, to the point where I had very little physical sensation on the soles of my feet. I've tried tons of different callous removers, and they were all either tediously slow or completely ineffective. I approached the Ped Egg with some skepticism, but I was completely pleased. I was used to having to spend a lot of time over the course of several days to make an impact with over devices, but I can say that this product almost completely eliminated my callouses in one treatment (I didn't want to go overboard the first time). It is the most ergonomic callous remover I've ever held. Upkeep is so easy, and actually very pleasing because it seems like it restores blood flow to the soles of my feet. Another benefit is that you don't have to soak your feet before use - it's meant to be used on dry feet. Also, it's the cheapest out there. After spending 10 bucks on the package, I can get a 3 blade refill for the same price (though the blade seems to last forever, I've had it for three months and no signs of it slowing down). If you've been searching for a way to remove your callouses, please give this a try. I love it!

Customer Review: The 'Incredible' Egg
Summary: 5 Stars

I cannot believe what a difference this product has made in my feet, both how they feel and how they look!!! The egg fits comfortably in my hand, is easy to use, and 'shaves' away years of build up of dead skin and painful calluses. I actually felt the cool floor under my feet for the first time in I don't know how many years after the first use!! The files are necessary after using the egg, they help take off the rougher spots and really smooth up your feet. Putting on a pair of socks after liberally appying the cream for the night will make sure it soaks in and doesn't get all over the sheet as well. Keep a towel or something similar under your feet when you use the egg, even if your feet are not as rough as mine where, no matter how many times you empty the egg, you will still have 'shavings' fall out of the egg when you are using it. Not a big deal, it cleans up very easily, but not something you want to share with your family. I hardly need to use this product at all anymore, it worked so well and using the cream regularly has made a drastic improvement. I would definatly recommend this to everyone, pamper your feet and boost your self-esteem!
