Customer Review: Walking on air? More like walking in a sock full of Jello.

I have horrible dry and thick skin on my feet. Nothing I did seemed to help (not even the Ped-Egg) so out of desperation I bought these socks and a bottle of Miracle of Aloe Foot Repair Cream.
The socks are booties made out of a soft and fuzzy material while the inside is lined with a solid springy gel. I put a layer of the aloe lotion on my feet and then pulled the socks on (which was not entirely easy to do.) The package also comes with a small sample of tea tree lotion to try.
The first thing I noticed is that the socks make my feet very warm. It was a somewhat hot and squishy feeling and took some time getting used to. Also walking around the house in these socks is not advised, aside from the gushy feeling, the socks get dirty very quickly and cannot be washed.
I have size 10 feet and they fit me, so someone with smaller feet might swim in them a bit. Also the elastic at the opening is quite snug to the point of cutting off circulation. I wore them to bed once and woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I was wearing a tourniquet so since then, I limit wear to a few hours at a time.
Do they work? Sort of. In combination with the aloe lotion, I found that my feet are much softer and stay moisturized much much longer. My heels and calluses have softened quite a bit. Now when I run the pumice stone over my feet in the shower, lots more dead skin comes off leaving my feet more presentable. I attribute this to both the lotion and the socks (which keep the lotion on my feet and off the sheets.)
The package says that they are good for 30 wears but I'm sure they'll be in the trash way before then. I've worn them 10 times and find that the inside tend to stick together a bit too much for my taste. They just feel kinds of gross and dirty at this point.
Would I buy these socks again? No. But I will buy a washable pair without the gel. I think wearing socks that don't absorb lotion is the key (in addition to exfoliating my feet every time I shower.)
