I am an African American woman with thick curly hair. I bought this flat iron from a beauty supply store for a little over twenty dollars. It works very well and I was able to straighten my hair out completely. The heat also adjusted to a high enough level to straighten my hair.

I would advise that anyone with wavy, kinky or curly hair should part their hair in very small sections while usng this flat iron in order to receive the best results.

I contemplated buying a CHI flat iron for over $100, but for $24.00, you can get the same results if you use this one properly.
