We ordered this flat iron to replace the same model I got for our 16 yr old daughter a little over a year ago. It's an awesome flat iron - all of her friends borrow it - so it's gotten a lot of use. Our daughter has long, pretty straight, relatively thin hair, so I can't comment on how it would work on other types of hair, but since all her friends love to use it, I'd guess it's good on other types also.
I probably should have ordered more than one since our daughter won't use any other flat iron - it's that good for her hair. I like that it has an auto shut off because she's often in a hurry when she does her hair, and I want to be confident it will shut off if she forgets to turn it off or unplug it.
We ordered from Amazon marketplace's Discountcentralonline.com because they had the best price + shipping available. It came quickly by Priority mail and was packed better than most things we receive from Amazon marketplace sellers. Just a plug for them because they were so conscientious about getting this item to us quickly and with great care.
