I was using a 2 inch wide iron with teeth because that is what I thought I needed for my very thick, very long, very wavy hair. I was unhappy because my hair always looked damaged. (And the teeth in the iron were getting sharp and bent.) I saw the great reviews for this Remington that said it compared well to the super expensive irons, but cost less than half the money. I've used it quite a few times already and I am not disappointed! I am surprised how quickly it it works. I am very happy that I didn't spend more than $100. I am very happy that my hair looks so much healthier. I totally recommend this product.Customer Review: Very Good Straightener

My daughter loves the digital readout and the easy handling of the unit. She doesn't seem to have a problem with the outside buttons because she holds the unit beyond that point. So far she's very pleased with the results and with the quality. When she took it to an overnight, several of the girls used her iron instead of the more expensive units they brought with them because of the greater control over the temperature. Apparently most have a dial that doesn't tell them how hot or how much hotter each line will make the iron and they find that frustrating when they go from "doesn't work" to "fried hair".Customer Review: Great Straightener

I bought this iron after my old, cheap one finally died on me. After reading the reviews, I was impressed but really just needed a decent flat iron, not a miracle-worker. Well, after the first time using it, I wish I had replaced my old el-cheapo a LONG time ago! I have very thick, wavy hair and was worried that the plates wouldn't be wide enough, but it didn't really matter because I saved so much time in NOT having to run it down my hair multiple times, once or twice and the section was pin straight. Also, the fly-aways I was having were remedied and it really does make my hair feel softer! VERY IMPRESSED!Customer Review: Works great....Instructions need revised

This is the first straightener I have used, so I can't compare to others. I can attest to the fact that I have medium length, moderately curly hair and I am able to straighten my hair with one pass at 410, although for a more polished look I do two passes. I am able to get two days out of my style without any signifigant frizz. However, it is fall and the humidity level is pretty low. My only real complaint is the instructions state to hold the "+" key to lock the buttons. After some trial and error I figured out that holding the "-" key actually acheived this. This flat iron is simply amazing. I've tried and returned many flat irons searching for one that actually worked. This not only straights my hair with little effort but I also notice a big difference in how my hair looks when its humid out. I would strongly recommend this flat iron. I have naturally curly hair and this takes out alot of the frizz. The cons are that the temperature changes as you do your hair because of the location of the buttons, just lock it and it won't be a problem. The handle also tends to get hot but not enough to seriously complain about it. You will not be disappointed.
