I have used this curling model for over 3 years. I am an Afro-American with medium-length hair. It curls great and the curls last all day. I also bought a backup pair. I gave my first pair away after using it for 2 years with no problems. I used my backup for about a year and now it overheats to the point of smoking and burning my hair on the number 1 out of 30 setting. I am going to order another pair to replace by backup since I had no problems with the first pair. I give it 4 stars because of my experience with the backup pair.
