Customer Review: Turned my hair into a static mess

Before I review this product, I just want to make a comment about wattage first. I have a Conair hot air brush which is 300 watts. This Revlon hot air brush is 500 watts. I don't care how good a product is, 500 watts will NOT dry hair (at least in this lifetime), nor should you expect it to! I use an 1800 watt dryer to dry my hair (I flip it upside down) and with my fine hair, it takes about a minute to get it almost dry. I then use the hot air brush to finish my hair, as if I was using a curling iron. I love the result! Now, that being said...
I got this Revlon hot air brush to replace my Conair hot air brush. My Conair is not ceramic, and it has hard plastic bristles. Some of the bristles have broken off and I don't want it to damage my hair. So, I thought I'd give this hot air brush a try.
Two major problems with this hot air brush are deal breakers for me. I don't like the design. The brush part just slides into the dryer portion with no locking mechanism. It's a flimsy plastic which tells me over time it will melt, distort or break, which is probably what's causing the brush to fall out. Also, with my fine hair, I ended up with a static electricity mess, I would assume due to the nylon bristles.
I gave this a 3 star rating because, other than the design, I think for those with thicker hair, it probably will do a great job. It's just not for me.
