Customer Reviews of Revlon RV544 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ionic Lightweight Dryer, Silver/BlackCustomer Review: Yikes! Didn't work for me! Summary: 2 Stars
After reading a lot of reviews here, I decided to try this dryer. I have a dryer that I love, but I thought I should try to find a back-up for the inevitable time when mine dies. The one I have is a vortex dryer(with a bell shaped end) that lifts the hair as it dries and is wonderful! Anyway, I can't find the same model, so I tried this Revlon model. Oh my...I have shoulder length color treated hair, kind of medium thickness and I ended up with a fuzzy mess! I gave up before it was quite dry and went back to my other dryer. I wish I would have had time to start over, but I would have been late for work. Ugh....hate a bad hair day. Another thing....the on/off switch is at a bad place. I kept turning it off as I was using it! My thumb kept hitting the switch. So....its not for me, but YMMV(your mileage may vary).
Customer Review: BEST dryer I've tried and only $17.99 w/ free brush at BJ's Wholesale! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this dryer a few weeks agao at BJ's wholesale club for only $17.99. It came with a free anti-frizz ionic brush as well. After trying hair dryers by Chi, Conair, and Wahl, I was so fed up. All those dryers took a very long time to dry my shoulder-length naturally-wavy hair (over 15 minutes), and they left me with frizz and no shine. The Revlon is fantastic. It only took 8 minutes to completely dry my hair, and left me with smooth beautiful shine. Note: I normally use SunSilk hydrating shampoo and conditioner, and Lanza Strait Line Smoother Straightening Balm. The model number on the box says it is the RV-5242 (I think because they are including the free brush). The brush itself it the BEST snag-free static-free brush I have used in years. I HIGHLY recommend this dryer to everyone.
Customer Review: Super fast, with no Frizz! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this item to replace an ancient, 1980's-era blow dryer, and based my choice on its excellent reviews. I have to agree, this is an excellent product. I first noticed that even on the highest setting the dryer did not get as hot as my old one. I thought this might be a problem, but actually it is an advantage as it won't burn you if you leave it in one place too long. The volume of air being pushed out of this dryer is far stronger than my old hair dryer, so it dries very fast. I have naturally wavy hair that tends to frizz and I used the dryer to straighten it. Much to my surprise, this dryer not only dried my hair very quickly, it left it very smooth with no frizz. It must be the lower heat with the strong blast of air that works so well. Whatever it is, I highly recommend it!
Customer Review: Singing the praises of the RV544 Summary: 5 Stars
I cannot say enough good things about this dryer! It dries incredibly quickly, is the lightest I have ever owned, and is very reasonably priced. I was going to buy the T3 Tourmaline for nearly 10 times the price, until I realized the seller would not honor its warantee on products purchased through Amazon. I have forever retired my previous ceramic dryer, which strained my arm so much, I considered installing a bracket on my body to hold it up. Other small details that make a difference: loop for hanging; buttons well-placed so on/off and cold setting are not hit by accident; comfortable to hold by nozzle instead of handle if desired.
I first reviewed this product in 2006. I don't use it every day, but it's held up for almost four years. I continue to be pleased with it.
Customer Review: 3 years later and still going strong Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a long-time Amazon buyer - but don't write many reviews. My review now is by happen-stance as I was poking around in "my account" options and was reviewing what I had purchased over the years and came across this purchase in 2006.
Can't recommend this dryer enough ( and yes - perhaps the newer models have changed in appearance/button location).
Bottom line - hair dries in much, much less time and this dryer is still going steady after 3 years of use.
You can pay $75.00 ---> on up if you choose to buy another dryer because you can't handle where the buttons are located on this dryer. So do what ever floats the boat. But for my money and the same results - you can't find a better dryer anywhere for this price.
