Customer Review: Ridiculously poor design & dangerous

I don't understand how anyone could even give this one star, let alone 5. I purchased one & returned it the very next day.
First off, the unit took a couple hours to melt the 3 lbs. of supplied wax. Then I had to wait another hour or so for the wax to cool enough to "safely" dip my hand.
At that point, the wax had started to solidify around the sides, leaving a very small pool of wax directly over the center of the bottom heating plate. This meant I had to ball up my hand to insert into the still liquid wax. It was almost unbearably hot! I got a few quick dips in but because my hand was in a fist, the wax started cracking off before I could shove my hand into the plastic liner. Trying to get the 2nd hand in the liner meant completely cracking the wax on the 1st hand.
My teenage daughter couldn't dip her hands at all, it was just too hot. Letting it cool longer left the wax was too solidified to dip. How useless.
Even with the mitts on, the heat didn't last long at all. It wasn't therapeutic at all. My skin was slightly softer but I suspect I could get the same results by putting a moisture cream on my hands, putting plastic baggies on them, then dipping in warm water for 10 min.
I have heard the more expensive units, such as Therabath, perform well, so perhaps I'll try one of those in the future.
