Customer Reviews of Seacret nail kit:Vanilla and coconutCustomer Review: I've been malled! Summary: 4 Stars
I am a 44 year old guy....a guitar player with really messed up nails. I have never taken care of my nails. I was in a mall the other day and this woman was giving samples of lotion out. I grabbed one and she said, "you don't take care of your nails, do you?" I laughed and said that was really no secret. She then proceeded to make 2 of my nails super shiny and then used the oil on them. I was stunned and amazed. This is the first time in my life that I actually listened to a pitch in a mall. I purchased the kit for less than the price here on Amazon. The woman kept going down in price and I finally caved. I knew I would find out that I paid too much for this stuff. But you know what? I don't even care. My nails are so much better for using this product and I am no longer embarrassed of my fingers. I can take the buffer block back to any kiosk for the next 2 years and get replacements and more oil if I keep the receipt. I will replace it as much as I can, but I am using it twice a week and it seem to be holding up pretty well. After the 2 years I will buy something similar at Walgreen's for much less, but I am happy to have entered the world of nail care. Face it, men don't usually think about these things and if I wasn't "swindled" in the mall, I would still have very ugly nails!!
Customer Review: Looks like nail polish, but much quicker Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a chemist and deal with caustic chemicals every day; it's very hard to find anything that can stand up to the abuse I put my hands and nails through.
~The hand lotion is very nice. It doesn't smell very strongly and leaves my hands feeling soft for most the day. It does take a few minutes to truly soak in, but there's no greasy residue when it does.
~The emery board is a nice one, but fairly run of the mill, I'd consider it an extra for the kit, but not the highlight.
~I love the cuticle oil. It's very light weight and has really helped heal my cracked and flaky cuticles in just a few weeks.
~Finally, I save the best for last: the buffer block. I've used similar products in the past, but this is the first one I've used that actually leaves my nails so shiny that they look like I've got wet nail polish on them. Even my clear coat nail polish isn't this shiny. With me, the polish lasts about 3-5 days (depending on what kind of chemicals I'm dealing with at work), but it's a real cinch to buff it back up if I feel like it.
Basically I'd highly recommend this product to my friends, but then they'd know the secret behind my nice nails.
Customer Review: 4 stars because there needs to be at least two buffers in this kit! Summary: 4 Stars
I wish this kit came with more than one buffer. I honestly love this buffer so much but it only comes with one, and sadly it doesn't last that long. I love the lotion and the cuticle oil too, but now my buffer isn't working as good as it did (I pressed too hard using the white side I think and I realize that all too late. Buff very gently with the white side especially) The mall kiosk was selling these and we got ours 2 for $[...]. Originally she was selling them 1 for $[...] but we didn't want to spend the money so she threw a second kit in for free, giving us 2 for $[...]. We gave one set to my 11 year old. This is the first time I've really tried to take care of my nails and I love it, but I just wish there were 2 buffers or at least a way to order just the buffers online. If they sold those I'd be a repeat customer, but I don't want to go buy the whole kit again for another $[...] so I guess that's it. :) It was fun while it lasted. I'll try to find another buffer equally as good somewhere else; that way I don't have to spend $[...] every 6 months. haha :)
4 stars because one buffer doesn't last long enough!
Customer Review: You better shop around Summary: 4 Stars
I could repeat what all the others have said about the sales people at the mall. Having had "The Seacret" experience at the mall yesterday and thought I'd come out not too bad, today I've looked online. I concluded anything from this company I bought in the future would only be online. However I paid $25 for this kit when Amazon's price for this kit (same as on Seacret website) is the same as the starting price for two which the Seacret girl quoted me at the mall. I haggled to just buy one. So I think it depends, if you educate yourself about their website prices and have some time to spare haggling, see how far you get. It doesn't seem right what a range of prices are out there and end up being paid by the public and that puts me off doing more business with them.
Having said that the products themselves seem to be very good. I'd had the hand scrub demo'd before & walked away (it CAN be done) and was impressed with those results so I let myself be stopped this time. I'm impressed with the nail kit so far and just trying to forget about how much I paid for the salt scrub!
Customer Review: worth the price...but get two sets Summary: 5 Stars
This product is really good - I LOVE the buffer. A friend of mine is a nail tech and she said that the buffer is one of the best that you can get. My mom and I got lured in by a guy at a mall kiosk and got the full treatment. He gave us a similar price than the amazon one, but then threw in a free set cause we were getting two. Then we looked at the salt scrub and got a similar deal. I think if you are going to get this product, try one of the mall places and see if you can get a couple of sets at a good price. We ended up getting three sets for $75.
I think that whatever you pay 25-50, this kit is definately worth it.
Also - if you go get this at the mall kiosk, ask if they will throw in extra buffer pads. They are sticky on the back so they can just peel off and be replaced. The guy that helped us gave us 2 sets of extra ones in case ours wear out.
