Customer Reviews of Seki Edge Stainless Steel Fingernail Clipper

Customer Review: Sharpest nail clippers
Summary: 5 Stars

The Seki nail clippers I recently purchased are the sharpest and easiest to use clippers I have ever owned. I was tired of the drugstore type nail clippers and decided to purchase something that would last and would cut finger nails easily and leave a smooth cut. These are definitely the ones to get if you want an easy cut without any rough edges. They are larger and heavier than the normal clippers you might find, and a little pricey, but definitely do a good job. My wife decided to try them recently and I am afraid I may lose them to her as she was quite impressed.

These are the best ones I have tried and will not need anything else.

Customer Review: Could have been better - especially given the price
Summary: 2 Stars

I was in Stuttgart when I found a German nail clipper for sale in a gift shop. It was a shocking $29 but since I was on vacation and in a pretty good mood, I examined it and tested it in the shop. It did such a good job that I bought one. It remains to this day in my night stand, unshared with my family. Feeling a little guilty, when I saw the Seki clipper at a tempting price, I pounced. Alas, the quality is about as good as a $3 clipper I recently bought and no where near as good a give-away clipper I keep in the bathroom. There must be a better clipper out there and I'll keep looking. This isn't the dream clipper I hoped for.nail clipper

Customer Review: Quality materials but awkward design for me
Summary: 3 Stars

I was really looking forward to trying these clippers after going through about 10 cheap clippers that required brute force to use.

I have to admit that, after reading all the positive reviews, I'm fairly disappointed in these. Why? Well, first, they don't seem to be all that sharp. But that may be more perception than reality, because they do cut my nails well.

But even more disappointing is that the opening is so narrow that I have to fumble around just to get my nails into the slot. I found a cheap pair of all-stainless steel clippers at the big-box superstore for about $3.00 that seem to do a better job.

Customer Review: Best ever
Summary: 5 Stars

I am completely impressed with this product. For the first time ever, I actually enjoyed cutting my nails. The clippers did not leave any jagged edges, and they did not become trapped between clippings that usually result in a tear. One reviewer commented they were heavy. They are heavier than the ones you buy in the check-out lane of a store. However, their design makes them very easy to manipulate. I actually found them easier to use than the typical clippers. If I could change one thing, I would put a rubber grip on the bottom to help prevent the smooth metal from slipping, but this certainly does not warrant a reduced rating.

Customer Review: Great tool, no carrying case
Summary: 4 Stars

Obviously, this product is outrageously expensive for what it is. I bought it for the pleasure of using a superior tool. And it is superior. What I notice the most is that the entire mechanism is rigid, which gives a feeling of control. Normal clippers flex while in use, so that the two blades come together suddenly, releasing the spring tension in the flexing metal. The Seki clipper closes smoothly and predictably as you squeeze it.

My complaint is that the clipper does not ship with a carrying case. So I am not taking it with me on travel. I don't want to bang up those expensive little edges.
