Customer Review: Too soft, too static-y

The bristles are not firm enough for anything other than very fine hair (or maybe short hair), and I have never had a brush that left my hair so full of static electricity. I'm not sure if this is due to the bristles or the cushion, or if it will improve once the brush has some natural oils on it. In any case, I'm not too happy with this purchase. Then again, I was looking for a cheap alternative to my Mason Pearson brush, and it's hard to compare a $16 product with a $180 product! If you have the budget for one of those, they're amazing... mine has been in constant use since 1992, and is still in great shape.
