This is the only hair product I use in my hair. I have thick wavy hair that's cut short and I use this to give my hair the natural tousled curly look. It's a little pricey but you don't want to use a lot of this in your hair so it does last a long time. You have to use it correctly or it will weight down your hair and look terrible. I only put a little bit in my hand, rub them together and then pat my hair overall first. After I've patted some product in my hair, I lift up layers and apply to the roots and work the product in my hair and then style it the way I want. If you accidentally put too much in, just wash it out, dry that section of hair and try again. (Before I figured out the right way to get it in my hair, I kept putting way too much in my bangs and they would look stringy/greasy)

I've tried to find cheaper products that do just as well as the manipulator and haven't had much luck. I have a jar of Got 2B Defiant, but I absolutely hate that stuff purely because of the smell (the product itself works almost as good as Manipulator if you can take the smell). I had found something called XTREME Molding Cream in my grocery store that worked really well and smelled nice and was about 1/3 the cost of Manipulator, however I can't seem to find it anywhere anymore. I still like Manipulator better, but because of the cheaper price, I was happy to use the XTREME molding creme which worked almost as well.

I'm knocking off one star only because it's a little pricey, but otherwise I would give it 5 stars.
