Customer Review: Better than Taylor, better than "can creams"

Lathers up to a rich, thick foam that doesn't deteriorate after a few minutes... lubes the skin to protect the skin from the razor very well... doesn't dry the face out, even after a particularly painstaking shave session... has a light, pleasing "old fashioned" scent that doesn't linger much... What's not to like?
Compared to the Taylor of Old Bond St. tub creams, aerosol creams of all colors and flavors, and the Shave Secret shave oil, Tabac Original is superior in pretty much every way. None of them offered nearly the protection and smooth shaving action that the Tabac does. I mean, the Taylor tub cream didn't even come with a snazzy ceramic bowl to refill and become an heirloom along with my Merkur Classic. The Tabac Original does.
Taking previous reviewers advice, I did spend a minute or two longer working the soap up into a lather. It's a little more time spent, but the results are well worth it. I also tried melting the soap into the bowl like I had seen suggested for other soaps... didn't work, and almost made a big mess. Also... if your skin is already damaged by a bad shave, this stuff irritates that skin a little. Just use a good aftershave.
