Customer Reviews of WENŽ Lavender Cleansing Conditioner 16oz

Customer Review: Pleasant surprise
Summary: 5 Stars

Well, I didn't expect this to work, but I am allergic to fragrances, use a lot of lavendar oils when I can, and was also tired of constantly cutting new layers into my hair, or cutting off the length, because the ends were also so dead and dry, so I thought I would give it a try.

The first time I used the product, my hair felt weighed down, so I thought I was out $28. But then I decided to use less. I only use two pumps for every section of my hair (4 all told, top, back, sides), and it works wonders. My hair is soft, smooth, no more shampoo, daily conditioner, deep conditioner, daily polishing milk and other styling products for my hair....I love this stuff. There is less hair in the drain when I use it, and there is less hair falling out on the rare occasion when I blow dry (I don't have to do that anymore; my hair dries quickly in the air because it is healthy and I only have to use a straightening or curling iron in the spot where my cowlick is, and even then I do it while my hair is damp and it still holds...).

I am going to try other Wen products, largely because one will do what it takes three-four products from another line to do...and that's just the point; many companies want you to purchase multiple products. I love going natural with essential oils and natural ingredients, but some of that stuff can be snake-oil too. This product is loaded with natural things that are good for my hair, that actually work, and that actually mean I can cut my hair less often, don't have to blow-dry 'til it's crisp, and I have a head full of healthy, thick, no-longer-falling-out, colored and cared-for hair.

Don't be afraid to experiment with it.

Customer Review: I Love Wen
Summary: 4 Stars

I have never commented on a product before. I have been using Wen for two straight months now. I have used the cucumber and lavender types. I have to say that we have all been like robots and made to think that you NEED the shampoo, then the conditioner, then the heavy reconstructor. I do remember years ago that there was only shampoo on the shelves at the store and it makes me think that the ingredients in shampoos have changed to MAKE you need all of those extras. It actually dries out and ruins our hair. Wen has changed the way I think about cleaning and caring for my hair. It smells good and cleans hair excellently. Here is my review: The first two weeks of using Wen Cucumber, I thought I was going to give up. My hair turned a bit frizzy, yet it was also amazing to see how the conditioning cleanser was transforming my hair. My hair must have been going through a transformation of some sort. After a while my hair was responding and LOVING this product. It can be addicting and a new way to approach hair care. Now I WILL NOT use anything else. I used regular shampoo ONCE in the past two months because I thought my hair needed it after one day of using a lot of styling product. MISTAKE. It was like straw once again. But Wen took care of it after. I have the worst hair in the world and have been told that by previous hair stylists. It is thin and hard to grow and dry. After using Wen my hair is actually growing. I have pieces of hair that are growing in nicely and I KNOW it is because of Wen. Just follow the instructions. 8 - 10 pumps is not a lot of product as it sounds. Follow the regimen and you will not be dissapointed.

Customer Review: After 10 months use--1st and Final Review: Fanstatic
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used the Wen Cleansing Conditioner (Lavender) for 10 months and have found Wen does exactly what it claims. However, this is one important note that should be considered.

I have medium long hair that is processed to a light beige blond ( after years of being bleached I have stepped down to partial foiling) and I find the Wen Cleansing Conditioner works fantastically; I massage a decent amount into my hair and leave on about 10 minuets (good time to shave) then use somewhat cool water to raise. The texture immediately feels smoother, silky, and easier to run my fingers or a comb through.

The first and second days after I use Wen (I wash every 3 days--any more than that is too drying) my hair looks an styles very well, the volume and body is fantastic and frizz is smoothed. On the 3rd day, I notice my hair feels more more oily, so another Wen Cleansing is required. After 4-5 weeks I've decided to use a clarifying shampoo to wash my hair (something without sulfates) and then after that single wash the next time I use Wen it feels just like the first time all over again, my hair is beyond soft and silky and just as amazing as the first time. So this is my new prescription for my Wen use.

One last thing, my hairstylist has noticed my hair is more healthy and the texture more soft, and it grows much more quickly with less split ends. This is due to exactly to my use of Wen over the last 10 months. All in all, I can't live without Wen but I do need to remind my hair ever 4-5 weeks or so that it is very lucky to have it.

Customer Review: WONDERFUL!!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all I have very complicated issue with my hair I am allergic to most shampoos; they make my hair extremely oily, and cover my head with welts and acne. As if that was not enough I went prematurely gray (100% gray) at the age of 32. So not only do I die the heack out of it but anyone who has gray hair knows your beauteful silky locks turn from luxurious strands of silk to threads of polyester rayon. Here I am in my mid 30's and I have the damaged, oily, stingy will not do anything hair of an 80 year old.

I was not expecting much out of this product, if it put a stop to the welts and painful acne I would have been happy. If by the end of the day my hair stopped looking like I has not washed it in a week or three I would have been thrilled. I am through the roof! I never expected it to make my hair soft and silky and manageable again. This is not my hair!!!!!

It did not happen over night, it took three weeks before I really started to notice and it works better when I style my hair and not just let it air dry. (When I air dry it does not feel or look as smooth and I get little frizzes) But I could not be happier.

I know its expressive but when you add the fact you are not using two products anymore the cost come out to about the same. I have long hair but I only use ˝ of the recommended amount, I did not see a difference in my hair when I used more. I also don't have to use moose, gel or shine stuff to get my hair to look the way I want it to any more. I have cut out 4 products saving me even more money.

Customer Review: Overpriced disappointment
Summary: 1 Stars

After a few weeks of use, I've decided to weigh in on the product. I bought the 16oz lavender cleansing conditioner with the hopes that I had found a new earth friendly product to use on my hair. I have very thick, often dry, straight to wavy, color treated hair. I frequently use a flat iron after washing and drying in my everyday routine.

First, I have to say the smell is a whole LOT of menthol with a hint of lavender. After you wash & dry, the smell is not as strong, but definitely still there as noticed by my friends & family. I applied the amount indicated on the label during washing (which is an obscene amount). Once dry, my hair was flat, limp and left feeling like it wasn't clean. The next day, same thing. My once shiny, full and light feeling hair was now heavy and dull. My hair had taken on a 'greasy' appearance, especially in my bangs, even though I had washed it everyday. I skipped a day of washing to see if it would make a difference and it did not. This is definitely a shampoo daily product. No skipping every-other-day like I was able to do in the past. It is Winter for now and my skin and hair will change with the seasons. I'm curious to see the results in Spring and Summer with this cleanser.

At ~$30/bottle this product is a hugely overpriced disappointment. Will not buy this or any other Wen product again.
