Customer Reviews of WENŽ Lavender Cleansing Conditioner 16ozCustomer Review: Surprisingly Disappointing Summary: 1 Stars
This product came highly recommended by some trusted friends. (One works for a well-known Apothecary and knows quality natural products). Unfortunately, when I used this product I lost quite a bit of hair and my hair appeared dull. Each time I cleansed my hair I lost 3x more hair than I normally do in the shower. I have thin and extremely fine hair that can break easily. That being said, I take very good care of my hair and it was very healthy looking when I decided to try Wen. I only need to wash my hair twice per week, so since my scalp is not oily, I chose the Lavender and not the Cucumber. I thought the lavender would also help make my hair more full since the lavender also claims to thicken and add volume. I went to Chaz Dean's website and watched the instructional video on how to properly use the cleansing conditioner. I followed these instructions very carefully in the shower and did not see any improvement in my hair. I still tried to wash twice per week, but if I did not heat style my hair I found that I had to cleanse three times per week. Before using this product I was able to wash my hair twice per week. Before using this my hair was silky, full, had shine, and had minimal split ends. I was using Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner. I went back to these products.
Customer Review: I grew to love it Summary: 5 Stars
I was not immediately sold on Wen, but with a little playing around to see what worked best for my type of hair, I grew to love it. In fact, I am on my second super size bottle of the lavender. Having fine curly hair, I really needed something to moisturize and volumize, and this product works for me. I do not use as much as the bottle says to use, nor do I "wash" twice. I simply make sure my hair is soaked, then I slather a good handful or 2 all over, massaging scalp, and all the way to the ends, then add a little more water, use a wide tooth comb to comb thru and leave it while finishing the shower, then I rinse my head last. Before I get out, I put a little pump full into my wet hair as a leave in.
I also am hooked on Deva curl products, so I may vary this routine by using the Deva One conditioner instead or before the Wen, if I am really dry. Also I use the Deva gel which combined with Wen really gives me full and defined curls! After using Wen for months now, my hair looks healthier, it is not breaking hardly at all! Granted, I am not combing it either except during said shower. If you have baby fine curls I think you might like this, as I do. It smells great, no animal testing, and even though it is a bit pricey, it seems to last. I truly love it.
Customer Review: DEFINATELY NOT the Holy Grail! Summary: 3 Stars
I am a new curly convert and this is what I chose to set foot in the door. I have lots of fine, very dry and frizzy, type 3b hair and have been using this every 3-5 days for the last month. I am 4/5 through the liter bottle and NEVER gotten 5* worthy hair. Some days worse than others but consistently frizzy and generally stringy, though yielded better results when used as advised on [...] and paired with a cone-free gel.
Makes a decent leave-in but not the best. Has great slip for detangling once you've used enough but note that will probably be A LOT less than stated by Dean. For my hair type and length he recommends 32-40 pumps but I've gotten best resuslts when using 20 pumps as advised on the [...] product page. I find the product TOO expensive for the results obtained but if it works for you, you'll probably want to slowly reduce the pumps to see how much is enough for you. You can start with Dean's minimum and reduce two pumps per section until you've reached the perfect combo.
I've used several of Dean's techniques but this is DEFINATELY NOT the Holy Grail he advises it to be that "does all". MIGHT give it another chance paired with other tested/true styling products in distant future but not convinced.

WEN Lavender Cleansing Conditioner - 16ozWEN Lavender Cleansing Conditioner - 16ozI ordered the Wen Lavender conditioner.I have used a lot of different shampoos and conditioners over the years .I have very fine long hair and most conditioners make my hair feel weighted down.I was skeptical about using this product but it did have some good reviews .I washed my hair following the instructions and was very pleased with the results ,it felt baby fine, but the difference was the dryness was gone and frizzies and it did not feel greasy or heavy it was easy to style ,When on the sculp it feels therapeutic as it has a tingling warm sensation and smells nice. Now I have been using it for a few weeks and I have learnt you need to use the amount indicated on the bottle to get correct results otherwise it does not clean correctly if you use less,it will look heavy. Before I would leave a little on the ends for extra conditioning I do not have to do that now as the condition of my hair has so improved.I will continue to use it .
Customer Review: It's okay...Herbal Essence Hello Hydration works better for me Summary: 3 Stars
I'm 46 and color my very short hair just to cover a few stray grays. I have been on the eternal quest to find the perfect shampoo and/or conditioner my entire life (kind of similar to the eternal quest for the perfect shoe). After seeing the infomercial with Melissa Gilbert, I thought I'd give this a try, but I was sceptical because the participants hair looked a bit "greasy", like they had applied too much shine serum to it. I ordered WEN Lavender from Amazon because I didn't want to get "stuck" on the monthly auto-supply list on the WEN site if I didn't like the product. Glad I made that choice. While the product is decent, my hair did NOT come out shiny and vibrant like the TV models did; definitely not $26/bottle worth. Nothing different than any other shampoo/conditioner combo. And after using it for 2 weeks, I was in a rush one day and decided to use my tried-and-true Herbal Essence Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner (blue bottle, ladies)and my hair looked shiny and vibrant and happy! I've been switching back and forth every other day between WEN and Herbal Essence and I get better results with Herbal Essence, so I won't be buying any more WEN. Sticking to Herbal Essence.
