Excellent stuff!!
I am a total Wen junkie. I admit that I buy from whichever site has the best price for the Wen product I need to buy at the time. For the bath, body, & hair oil of Sweet Almond Mint flavor, it was Amazon.
First, I was impressed to receive the product FIVE days from order placement to in hand / mailbox. Did I mention that the order date was 19 December & arrival date was 24 December?!?!?? This was only with regular standard shipping & no special requests to please try & get it to me before Christmas or anything.
I try & order a bit early, definitely before I run out of oil. I do not want to run out. Kudos to the shipping team for getting the merchandise in the mail so quickly at Christmas-time & packing it well for the cross country trip because the 4oz. size (which this item is) comes in a glass jar. Although the glass jar does seem exceptionally strong, it was / is reassuring to see the oil was packed & insulated for shocks the package & Sweet Almond Mint Oil might encounter in the coast to coast trip to my home.
I also learned something from this shipment (this is NOT something I would have tried to make happen to the oil just to see how the product would respond to this event.) It arrived FROZEN!?!?! Thankfully, the oil unthawed & the cloudy appearance dissipated from the bottle in about four hours without handling or special treatment. I just left it alone.
Product review. ~ I have long naturally curly, sort of dry, THICK, coarse hair, when dried with the natural curls is over two - thirds of the way down my back. My hair craves moisture & moisturizing products. My hair also tends to require wayyy more than the recommended amount of product. The instructions, Three to Five droppers full of product? Nope. More like thirteen + droppers full of oil. That is a minimum. I mean, I get between six to eight treatments at most out of a 4oz. bottle. Most of the time I use Sweet Almond Mint, but I have Tea Tree for occasional Winter use. I use Tea Tree a couple of times a month because of dry heat to keep dandruff / dry scalp at bay & under control. I also have, in addition to those two oils, I have Cucumber, Lavender, & Fig Oils to use. I have the entire current line up of oils & use them to work on the current issue I want to work on with my skin or hair.
My favorite to use & smell is the Sweet Almond Mint Oil. I put it on my hair & scalp, then I put on a plastic shower cap for additional performance & absorption of the oil I am using. I set the timer for a couple of hours.
I would love to wear it overnight, but I have a cat that is sensitive to the oil, she bites after she sniffs it. She likes to sleep with me, so I am forced to use daytime applications.
I think the oil has made a tremendous difference in my hair. It seems softer, smoother, the curls are much more defined, looser & softer. I have much less frizz. Scalp itch in winter from dry heat is soothed with the oils if they are used each week or several times a month.
When I am not doing a deep oil treatment, the first cleansing of my hair, I mix in one full dropper of oil in with approximately thirty pumps of Wen & cleanse my hair & wait ten to fifteen minutes, then rinse out & then do a "regular" cleanse for a second time to complete the process. Occasionally , I mix a few drops of oil with the after cleansing / leave in amount of Wen for extra softness, shine & frizz control.
The oils are also great for the skin & putting on immediately after a shower. The skin is left with a tingling feeling of hot & cold. I can not really adequately describe the feeling, but it lasts for about fifteen to twenty minutes after using.
All in all, it is a product that I think does a fantastic job taking care of my skin & hair, & I hope it is always available for purchase. Thanks Mr. Dean for yet another great product for my hair & skin.
