I LOVE this flat iron. I am a 30 year old African American woman. My hair is kind of unique in that it is fairly straight; I only chemically relax my hair twice a year. I have tried all kinds of hot irons and either they don't get hot enough or the metal is not compatible with my hair so it leaves visible lines. This iron straightens AND curls my hair thanks to the rounded edges!! I had another iron just as fabulous: Vidal Sassoon VS190. All of my friends who have used my iron tried to steal it from me, it works way better than a CHI! A few months ago the cord on the VS190 started spazzing out so I had to buy a new one. It took me forever to find a replacement as it was a discontinued product. I found one but at the time there was only one in stock. I loved it so much I figured I needed a back up iron. I noticed that the WIGO and VS190 were VERY similar in the photos. I ordered one to see if it was as good as the VS190 and indeed its the SAME iron, just different labeling!!!

I have read some user reviews that said it will snag your hair if you catch it in the part between the plates and the plastic. HELLO--stop trying to straighten so much hair at once; use smaller sections and you won't experience any breakage. That type of problem is completely user error and has nothing to do with the design of the flat iron. I am even thinking of gifting this iron to my friends.

Ceramic irons do add moisture back to your hair, however, as an African American moisture causes frizz and that's what I'm trying to eliminate. Even some of my white friends have tried this iron and are amazed.

Con: I wish it had a swivel or retractable cord. It's still a great inexpensive iron!

Maybe I will add a video of me straightening my hair so you can see how good this iron has been to me. It's that good!
