So my cousin had the MK3 version and I thought why not try it, she likes it. Well I got my GHD yesterday and LOVED it. I am a black woman who is trying very hard to let go of getting relaxers. So I took the plunge with this iron. I washed and dried my hair and then took section by section and straightened my hair with this iron. I thought this would be a time-consuming process but it turned out to be quick and painless. I was able to flat iron my hair in about 20 minutes. This same feat with a regular flat iron would have taken over an hour. The other great feature of this iron is that it senses what your hair needs re: heat, so you don't over heat your hair and potentially burn it out - I've been known to do this as well. Also I chose not to use the GHD hair products because I use Carol's Daughter ([...]) hair products and they worked FANTASTIC with this flat iron! Happy Buying.
